Dear Beloved Reader,

Welcome to the inaugural edition of Open Veil, a Christian spirituality newsletter dedicated to exploring the hidden treasures of God’s presence in our lives. The name itself speaks of a journey — a pilgrimage into the heart of faith where veils are lifted, and mysteries are unveiled, not by human striving but by the grace of God.

In 2 Corinthians 3:16–18, Paul writes:

“But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory.”

This passage serves as our cornerstone, reminding us that the veils of doubt, fear, and misunderstanding fall away when we turn to Jesus. Through Him, we enter into a life of deeper communion with God, where His glory is revealed in ever more profound ways.

In Scripture, veils symbolize separation, mystery, and the holy reverence of God. The temple veil marked the boundary between humanity and God’s holy presence in the Most Holy Place. Yet, at the moment of Christ’s death, the temple veil was torn in two (Matthew 27:51). This was a divine declaration: the way to God was now open through Jesus Christ, who paid the ultimate price of atonement with His precious blood on Calvary’s tree.

As believers, we are invited to live beyond the veil, stepping into the fullness of God’s love, wisdom, and power. Yet, many of us remain shrouded by spiritual veils of our own making — traditions, religious busyness, distractions, or unconfessed sin. Our hope is that Open Veil will be a space where those veils can be identified and, by God’s grace, removed, so that His treasures can shine brightly in our lives.

The unveiled life is one of discovery — uncovering the riches of God’s grace, the depth of His Word, and the power of the Holy Spirit within us:

  • The Treasure of Identity – Knowing we are children of God, created in His image and redeemed through His Son.
  • The Treasure of Purpose – Discovering our unique calling and role within God’s Kingdom.
  • The Treasure of His Presence – Experiencing the transformative power of abiding in Christ daily.

As we embark on this journey together, let us remember that unveiling is not solitary but communal. The body of Christ is called to share in the discovery of God’s treasures, encouraging one another in faith and love.

Whether you are a seasoned pilgrim or just beginning to sense God’s call, this newsletter is for you. Together, we will seek the treasures beyond the veil, trusting the Spirit to guide us into the ever-deepening mystery of His glory.

Let’s walk this path with open hearts and minds, ready to be transformed by the treasures we find.

In His Grace,
Dr. Doyin Famodu
